This exhibition deliberately
eschews subjective visions or set themes and opens itself to the multiple directions
of emerging art, reflecting the diverse laboratories where creation carves
out its course. More important than the choice or list of artists are the situations
to be constructed here. This is a survey of the present that opens onto recent
and coming perspectives.
It is as if the sun had suddenly changed colour. At
this moment of imperceptible shifts everything has become different, defined
by the notion of project, devoid of explicit intentions, as if epochal turning
points had the texture of an ambience, a natural curve, a new colouring set
within unexpected foundations.
This project is dedicated to the world's immediacy,
to the composite cosmos born of our most recent collapses. Taken in turn, these
sets of situations present us with a “cabinet of ambiences”, a “sphere
of the amorous”, a “zone of transitory forms”, the “field
of mutant sensations”, “quotidian units”, a “section
of emergencies and survival kits”, and an “office of associations
and networks”… In fact, each section corresponds to these new
artistic states, these recently reformulated territories that are ambience,
risk and future, or the social, economic and libidinal fields. Each one sends
out signs and symptoms of an art that is eminently responsive to the world
around it, an art in which one can decipher the proposal of a plurality of
future worlds. In these revisions of the emotional, the social, the economic
and the convivial, what is laid before us is a renewed need for issues and
exchanges, an existential configuration concerned not just to produce forms
but to find forms for life.
