American artist Pat Steir, who lives and works in Amsterdam, goes out from
the exhibition centre into the city with a mural and nine sculptures. The mural
spreads out along street walls in a continuous line following the trail of
history, from the drawings by the Nazka Indians of Peru right up to the present
day; the sculptures are archetypes of elementary geometrical forms (spheres,
cylinders, pyramids, etc.) which symbolize the birth of creativity.
